Bike hire insurance abroad

Any advice on this? I'm hiring in Mallorca for 4 days, insurance from shop is £19 and only covers up to £200. I don't think I have any cover under home or travel insurance, are there any companies offering worthwhile insurance? Thanks

    I'd have thought any worthwhile hire company would have their own insurance which should be factored into the hire price. This sounds like a tourist rip off.

    It was about 10 years ago that I hired in Mallorca and I think the insurance was about £10.
    Lucky we did as we did have a crash due to inattention in the group and my bike broke a chain stay.
    They collected the bike in a van and gave me a new one.
    The bike was from Huerzeler in Can Piccafort.

    I would also recommend Huerzeler, I've hired from them a couple of times and always been very helpful. I think the insurance was £10-15 for a week and covered any damage to the bike (not sure if theft was covered though).
