Check out the para B women's race, ran on Saturday. Follow the Irish pair who stopped at the finish line on lap 2, right by us, for a Shimano support car wheel change. Then...No_Ta_Doctor said:

And now there are whispers of a potential TDF Grand Départ. I reckon that’s got to be on the cards now.0

It was awesome to have on the doorstep but I think every 4 years, having such a big festival of all things bike is awesome… looking forward to watching the TT round lake Annecy in 4 years time!!0

I’ve been thinking about this. Of all the places in France you could do a similar thing it’s Haute Savoie. Annecy the city, the Lake Annecy cycle path, the off-road mountain passes, and from a road perspective it’s THE place to design a route. They’re also building a brand new velodrome. It’s a fantastic place to cycle. I can’t wait!twotoebenny said:It was awesome to have on the doorstep but I think every 4 years, having such a big festival of all things bike is awesome… looking forward to watching the TT round lake Annecy in 4 years time!!

I'd love to see it but I get the feeling these aren't whispers so much as the organisers of the Glasgow Worlds openly saying "Who know's what's possible, eh lads? I mean, Tour de France, RIGHT!?"thegreatdivide said:And now there are whispers of a potential TDF Grand Départ. I reckon that’s got to be on the cards now.
Basically won't be getting my hopes up until it's announced.0 -
I absolutely loved it although I’m biased as I’m from Glasgow and I was heavily involved in it. I think every 4 years is right for the reasons others have outlined. Although I couldn’t watch everything I still watched things I wouldn’t normally have watched.
The whole thing was a bit of a dream for me. I was involved with the Colombian team as I’m friends with Paula Patiño and Diana Peñuela and was helping them out with accommodation and logistics. Took them and the rest of the team out for some rides and got to ride the circuit too. The young riders in particular seemed to love the whole event and Scotland too. One young lad at his first Worlds gave me his gloves which was really nice.
I also got to see my favourite AvV ride her last big race on home roads, and with her usual class, grit, and drama. And then went to the pub with her and Marianne Vos, which was just nuts!!!
