Axiom Journey pannier rack

I recently purchased an Axiom Journey pannier rack; the idea was to put it on my Giant Revolt gravel bike to use for commuting and exploring.
Unfortunately the rack isn't wide enough to fit onto the frame of the bike (photo attached). There's a great video online of a guy installing this rack on a Revolt but the difference is the carbon frame Revolt has an indentation for the eyelits where my aluminium frame does not, adding a cm or two width.
I measured the inside of the rack and it's only 140mm. This width also would not fit my Giant Contend road bike.
Has anyone else had a problem where the rack was too narrow for the frame and if so any solutions?
Is 140mm a typical (inner) width of pannier rack arms a standard width or is this unusually narrow?
Thanks

It's most likely sized for a rim brake bike, these use a narrower rear hub, so the frame is narrower. You can either bend it or return it and swap it for one designed for disc brake frames. I had a look on Axiom's site and they claim this: "Versalock® arms can be DIY bent up to 30 degrees without reducing strength". Whether you want to do this or not is your decision, it would make it harder to return if you did.1
