Not a lot of interest in last year's thread, but hey, it's a tradition.
So, better late than never.

Moved the nomination from 2022 to 2023

Nominated a couple of days ago.

"Another reason it’s a shame there’s no Ayuso, Vine and Almeda here: we’d be awash with JVs and JAs and have lots of hilarious name japes like a bad sketch in Two Ronnies…"

I have an offering for Quote of the Tour, but there's not a thread (and might not be worth opening a new one).
ITV coverage, Matt Rendell (I think) doing post-race interview with Jai Hindley after his stage win - "So you've had a taste of pink.....".
I wondered where he was going after that opener. :D

Sorry about that. I had both threads open at the time......

Eddy Merckx is like Elon Musk levels of greatness so it's not really comparable. It just seems such a shame because he might have been up for another biggy, "sports personality of the year" award.

    Chaser

Until Cavendish spends $44bn on a cycling team and turns it into FdJ I refuse to believe that he's anywhere near approaching Musk's peculiar genius.

That view of the finish is comical, don't get that often.

Pog is closing in on Jonas like its zenos paradox ...halfing the time gap every attack but never getting there

Campenaerts trying to garner attention by riding incredibly overgeared.

Genuinely thought they were showing Campenaerts in slow motion then until I saw people clapping at normal speed.

Shows how light modern bikes are if Jonas can bench press it.
