    I’m not going to pretend I’m even close to programming AI.

    However, I’ve done enough data modelling to know that it is simply not possible to plan for all eventualities. You go through iteration after iteration getting closer and closer to perfection but you never get there. There are always gaps and loopholes you are unable to perceive until you measure an unexpected outcome.

    If an AI is programmed to achieve an objective and can navigate its way through a set of human coded rules to achieve that objective it WILL find gaps in those rules leading to unintended consequences. This is an absolute certainty.
