Look, I'm not going to keep this updated every day, but there's a GT on that actually had a jersey for last place, and some incredible stories and tradition about competing for it. So here's a start on a thread for this year, after 7 stages. Feeel free to ppost updates, debate, chat, rubbish etc.

Heroes of stage 7:

159 KRIEGER Alexander Alpecin-Deceuninck 25:07
160 GROVES Kaden Alpecin-Deceuninck ,,
161 STEWART Campbell Team Jayco AlUla ,,
162 BONIFAZIO Niccolò Intermarché - Circus - Wanty ,,
163 KIRSCH Alex Trek - Segafredo 25:18
164 GUERNALEC Thibault Team Arkéa Samsic 25:35

Great ride from Gurning Alex, squeezing out those additional seconds. He's no danger for the bottom ten though:

155 158 ▲3 ARASHIRO Yukiya Bahrain - Victorious 1:48:04
156 159 ▲3 HVIDEBERG Jonas Iversby Team DSM 1:48:15
157 160 ▲3 FIORELLI Filippo Green Project-Bardiani CSF-Faizanè 1:48:16
158 161 ▲3 CAVENDISH Mark Astana Qazaqstan Team 1:48:19
159 162 ▲3 CIMOLAI Davide Cofidis 1:48:34
160 163 ▲3 DALLA VALLE Nicolas Team Corratec - Selle Italia 1:49:44
161 166 ▲5 TUSVELD Martijn Team DSM 1:51:06
162 167 ▲5 HOOLE Daan Trek - Segafredo 1:52:49
163 169 ▲6 GANDIN Stefano Team Corratec - Selle Italia 1:53:30
164 168 ▲4 STOJNIĆ Veljko Team Corratec - Selle Italia 1:55:54

Cav in a decent position there, but he's unfortunately been showing some form at the wrong end of the race. Could probably do with a crash or two more.

Cav spent some time discussing tactics with the judges car today.
He may be making a more concerted effort going forward.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Davide Simolai was DNS today, a definite disappointment from his top ten position.

Today's Aero bar muncher (mint Aero for preference)
163 TUSVELD Martijn Team DSM +6:53

That sees him onto the podium for now

    161 161 - TUSVELD Martijn Team DSM 1:57:51
    162 163 ▲1 GANDIN Stefano Team Corratec - Selle Italia 1:58:23
    163 164 ▲1 STOJNIĆ Veljko Team Corratec - Selle Italia 2:01:20

I do enjoy watching Corratec - Selle Italia sending decoys up the road on a normal stage day.

Corratec have punched above their weight trying to avoid this prize

Corratec have punched above their weight trying to avoid this prize

...and yet they have the first two podium spots.

149 STEWART Campbell Team Jayco AlUla 26:55
150 HEPBURN Michael Team Jayco AlUla ,,

A Jayco duo stole the show on stage 10, taking nearly four minutes out of the large, cold, soggy autobus.

The Corratec boys both suffered a jour avec, giving over 11 minutes away to thirty riders, and Arashiro move into the black

The new GC looks like this:

    142 158 ▲16 HVIDEBERG Jonas Iversby Team DSM 2:04:34
    143 159 ▲16 DALLA VALLE Nicolas Team Corratec - Selle Italia 2:05:02
    144 144 - IACCHI Alessandro Team Corratec - Selle Italia 2:05:08
    145 160 ▲15 HOOLE Daan Trek - Segafredo 2:05:47
    146 143 ▼3 STEWART Campbell Team Jayco AlUla 2:07:21
    147 150 ▲3 RIOU Alan Team Arkéa Samsic 2:07:56

I don't know what Gandin's excuse was, but the DS must have bought it.
Stojnic must have been less convincing - he's been sent on punishment duty to the break on a 220km stage
