London to Edinburgh (Scenic/Least traffic route)

Has anyone done any London to Edinburgh routes? Any ideas on what would be the best route taking in some sights and avoiding as much traffic as possible?

The North York Moors, into the Yorkshire Wolds and over the bridge to the Lincolnshire Wolds should be obvious. All are great areas to ride with plenty of quiet lanes.

I don't know much of that route, but I'd definitely suggest the eastern option through the Borders via Innerleithen, traffic wise.

Yeah that road via Langholm, Eskdalemuir etc was the one we took, it was one of the best bits of the ride.
