Richmond Park Time Trials 2023 - entries open

London Dynamo Richmond Park Time Trials

These unique highly regarded events are back for 2023. On the 25th June and the 9th July. During the last few months, we have been busy and have made a few exciting changes.

We have new sponsors; in the form of Richmond Cycles and Rule 28 who will be providing the prizes.

We are changing our timing system all riders will now have a timing transponder on their bikes. This will reduce timing errors and give the riders the accuracy they demand.

A benefit of using this system is we are now able to offer two additional categories:

Women’s Road 3-Up TTT

Men’s Road 3-Up TTT

These categories are only going to be available in the July event as we want to allow the chip timing to bed in on the June event. We are also limiting the number of teams that can enter these events. So, if you are keen you need to get your entry in quickly. The RiderHQ entry system means that one person from the team will need to enter and pay for the entire team. You will then need to sort the finances between yourselves.

The existing categories are remaining in both events:

Junior Female

Junior Male

Men’s Road

Men’s TT

Para

Women’s Road

Women’s TT

For those of you unfamiliar with the event, the first rider starts at 06:00:30 and they follow at 30 second intervals, so you should get a near traffic free ride. The course starts opposite Robin Hood car park heads out to Roehampton up Sawyers to Richmond down to Kingston where it turns around and heads back. The finish line being just past the entrance to Pen Ponds car park a total distance of 10.4 miles. It’s the only TT that has been allowed to run by the Royal Parks so a unique event.

Additional ROAD bike category information

If you enter into the Men’s or Women’s Road categories then your bike must not have aerobars attached. Wheels must have rims no more than 60mm deep. Aero TT helmets are not allowed (aero Road helmets, e.g. Specialized Evade, Giro Air Attack, are acceptable).

If you break any of these rules you can still ride, but we’ll categorise you as a TT rider. If you break these rules in the 3-up road category, then you will be disqualified.

For those thinking about entering the Road category we have now adjusted our rules in line with CTT to allow wheels up to 90mm.

There are currently 9 spots left in the July event. The June event is sold out but worth joining the waiting list if you are keen to do that event as we always get people drop out closer to the event.

Any one interested in racing this Sunday there have been a few last minute drop outs. So the events have been re-opened on RiderHQ. Currently 5 spots available. The events close if they are full or not on the 21st June at 1600hrs
  • The introduction of the Women's and Men's Road 3-Up TTT categories in the July event is a great idea, offering more opportunities for riders to participate.

  • Speaking of cycling, I've been busy exploring US amusement parks lately. There's something about the thrill of roller coasters and the fun of carnival games that keeps me coming back. Just like in the time trials, there's a sense of competition and camaraderie among fellow park-goers. It's a fantastic way to spend a day with family and friends, creating memorable experiences.
