Reminds me of the old spoof news article about Scouse Formula 1 pit crew:

"The Ferrari F1 team fired their entire pit crew yesterday."This announcement followed Ferrari's decision to take advantage of the British government's 'Work for your Dole' scheme and employ some Scouse youngsters.

The decision to hire them was brought about by a recent TV documentary on how unemployed youths from Toxteth were able to remove a set of wheels in less than 6 seconds without specialist equipment, whereas Ferrari's existing crew could only manage it in 8 seconds with millions of pounds worth of high tech gear.

It was thought to be an excellent, bold move by the Ferrari management team, as most races are won and lost in the pits, thus giving Ferrari a massive advantage over every other team.

The scouse lads were brilliant at their home practice sessions, however, Ferrari got more than they bargained for! At the crew's first real race practice session at Le Mans, not only was the scouse pit crew able to change all four wheels in under 6 seconds but, within 12 seconds, they had re-sprayed, re-badged and sold the car to the McLaren team for 8 cases of Stella, a bag of ganja and some photos of Lewis Hamilton's bird in the shower."

🤣 I’ve never seen that one before!

For the concerned forumites, I’m back home now after several hours with the great unwashed in A&E. My GPs advice was to go there to speed up the process.

Looks like a sprained or possibly ruptured ACL. X-ray showed a tiny sliver of bone floating about so I’m being referred to the fracture clinic in 7-10 days. According to the physio I’ll “probably” get an MRI booked at the same time

Been told to try to keep it elevated to reduce the swelling and they’ve given me a splint which I can take off at night.

Looking highly likely that I’ll defer IM now 😞 it’s around 6-8 weeks recovery for a sprain and the event is in 16 weeks or so. It would quite possibly be very stupid to attempt it on this with now minimal training and I don’t know for sure until another few weeks.

Excusing the cursor the tiny dot in the red bit is potentially a sliver of bone pulled off by the tendon and going to play havoc down there.

So, for the old strava followers, I’m very sorry and for the new ones you’ll never notice the difference.

    HD - that's a bummer :(

Look on the bright side, you got some decent skiing in this year, which is more than a lot of people did.
