What SPD 2 bolt cleat new shoes are recommended

I've both commuter and road bike and I want to buy some more shoes, I just struggling to find ones that are not as heavy as MTB shoes which obviously use 2bolt cleats. I'm replacing old Gaerne Slate shoes which feel like old slippers but because of age not fit for purpose. Any advice..?

    Agreed, budget is key.

There are some superlight carbon soled shoes out there, Bontrager XXX spring to mind, but they are not cheap.

Usually some decent offerings on sale though, all depends whether it fits you and your wallet properly though.

I've got some Fizik x5 Terra shoes which are nice. The uppers look similar to their road shoes and they're not mega heavy.

I bought some Lake MX218. Carbon soled so light.
They are a bit narrow but there is a Wide version.
  • Thanks very much for the welcome .. my budget hadn't been set which I know is fatal, -but it's the same when it comes to bike purchase!! I'm not riding every day like I used to and I've been out of the trade for a couple of years so out of touch a little - how sparse an actual place is to go and try on was my next point to question?
The versatility the only reason for sticking with SPD I am a amputee rider with only one arm (no right) using Di2 not sure the font of putting this but no balance issues just I can't be the only one thinking there's not many SPD shoes for people riding with two or more different bikes??

    ^what Oxo says.
Quite a lot of gravel options, some at silly prices.
This might give you a few ideas (but is really an advertorial I'd say)
