Eurosport player

Eurosport player ceases to be today and although I can still watch it on the television as I have an Amazon fire stick. Is there any way I can still watch it on my iPad.
I can watch the normal Eurosport but that seems to all tennis and other cr*p.

Is it not just replaced by the discovery + service?

Apparently so but I’ve still got 6 months to run on my subscription. However when I try to sign in to Discovery with my Eurosport pass word it’s invalid..

I think I’ve got it sussed now. When I downloaded the app and opened it, I felt my eyeballs were on fire with all the stuff flashing up.

Updated - I've got the same on my TV, laptop and iPhone. Had to log in again though.
Apple TV doesn't work but that's no biggie as the TV does.

I am not sure. You have no chance.

In its wisdom my bank stopped the renewal payment to Eurosport, I have tried to renew it. However it now appears that in the UK and Europe you can only get Eurosport through the Discovery channel at £59:99 rather than the £39:99 I was paying before.
Is the only way to get Eurosport now.

Mine auto renewed 3 days ago at full £39.99 as didn't get the 1/2 price Black Friday option of the previous 2 years last November. App working on FireStick tv and iPad.

You can get Discovery + free if you have some other subscriptions. I got mine through Sky Q but I think there was another way too. It’s on the thread in Pro Race.

It was the auto renewal the bank stopped. But it seems I can’t now get Eurosport without going through Discovery.

Same for me but I wonder if something changed on 01/07/2023?

I did contact the Eurosport help line and Sasha who might be a bot or human informed me I had to go through Discovery, she/it said it would be the same price but it’s 59:99. I got back in touch to say I don’t want Discovery with all its extras. But I haven’t received a reply.

There's an offer mentioned on the Cycling Podcast of 15% off GCN. gcn.eu/cycling15

Yes I'm sure that is the case, £59.99 for Discovery that gives you most things, or £39.99 for GCN - which I sub to.

I have wistful memories of my £1.99 12 month sub a few years back :D

As of today, Discovery+ have locked me out of the Eurosport app, despite it not ceasing to stream until the end of the Tour.

We have allegedly been sent an email (I haven't) notifying us all of this and asking us to re-subscribe to Discovery+ under their new terms and agreement.

Following their instructions, I tried to re-register and subscribe on line through my Firestick. They wouldn't or couldn't process the payment.

For several months now, my streaming has been regularly interrupted, requiring a re-connection in order to continue to watch.

    An utter shambles.

i received an email from eurosport today...

We regret to inform you that the Eurosport Premium subscription service will be discontinued on July 22. If your subscription is set to auto-renew before July 22, you will not be billed again and you can continue to enjoy the Eurosport Premium subscription service until it is discontinued. Otherwise, after the service has closed, you will receive a refund for the unused time remaining on your subscription. Refunds will be made to the payment method that you used to purchase your subscription.

    ...which fortunately just covers tdf

there was also a link to get a code to subscribe to discovery+ 'standard' at a reduced rate until end of year, won't be doing that as i only got eurosport for tdf, though sometimes watch other grand tours/classics if i'm in the mood

next year will just be doing a single-month subscription next tdf

had a quick scan of the other stuff included with d+ 'standard', wouldn't watch it if they paid me

all they've done is cut revenue they get from me by 80%, plus the refund on a few months of the current subscription

Similar email arrived for me this pm. My annual Eurosport sub runs out on 28th June anyway, though prev they were going to switch me to £6.99 per month.

I do watch a fair bit of cycling via Eurosport on the ad free streams, and cyclocross, track etc in the seasons. Don't know what Olympics coverage there will be this year.

So if D+ does have ad free streams then ok(ish) but I will not be paying them £nn to get 'kin ads fired at me.

    Ah good. I hate ads...

Right, if I understand correctly, as my annual sub to ES Premium expires on 28th June, what was then going to be a switch to monthly 6.99 won't now happen, they won't take any more £, I can continue to watch ES until it get terminated on 22nd July after which I can move to D+ Std for £3.49 per month for the rest of 2024. Fair enough. Assuming ES still works via FireStick app... ES app is still working on this iPad but casting to a big screen TV is a bit flaky. I will check FireStick later.

There is a DS+ App for the fire stick. It's not exactly rapid though, and the navigation is bloody awful.
