Need a new bike help me choose

Hi I use to be a keen road cyclist but had to give it up due to my mental health this was around 5 years ago

I still have a Felt F95 which I'm planning on giving a service and getting back out on it to gain some fitness and shed some kilos

As a reward for doing above I'm going to get a new bike . I've got £2000-£3000 to spend and narrowed it down to these two (seem to have best specs for price)

https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/orro-gold-stc-105-di2-r500db-road-bike-2023/rp-prod212049

And this

https://www.halfords.com/bikes/road-bikes/boardman-slr-9.4-disc-mens-road-bike-2021---xs-s-m-l-xl-frames-455502.html

Or is there anything better in the price range

Thanks

    .
The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.
  • I wish.... I'm in the UK and don't fancy/willing to get shipping form USA for a bike

Gorgeous choice BTW if it was uk I would be all over it .

it comes down in a box by courier - R&A use DHL

    job jobbed

    can't see the problem really

Poor advice, isn't the same at all, import duty, VAT and courier charge all to pay before delivery.

Vat to pay on any bike from anywhere

courier delivery charge to pay from anywhere online

import duty yes but look at the price

so not bad advice overall tbh.

  • Still prefer uk as the customer service returns are much easier than if I had to send back to USA in the case of damage in transit etc

Plus they don't have my size in stock

Any thoughts on the 2 bikes I listed

Mates got the Orro with ultegra mech rather than Di and loves it. Me personally I'd go with Defy maybe or Trek Domane.

Too many bikes according to Mrs O.

Last time I checked for new bicycles, 6 months ago, Canyon was by far best value for money.

Canyon Ultimate, comes with a very broad range of prices and specs.
Although I ended up buying (again) a Cannondale Synapse Carbon Ultegra Disc, 2yr used but basically new. Paid 2450, new would have been I think 3650.

Being the right size for the OP might have a degree of usefulness, especially as there seems to be just the 1 size available…. ?

Maybe it's a personal preference but, same as with cars, I'd rather buy used. Value for money muuuuuch better.

Canyon bikes - customers buying/after sales experience seems to vary plus potential long wait time if not an in-stock bike. Vfm for bike spec however is very good.

    This maybe? £2800

Van Rysel at Decathlon is very good spec for your money - showing out of stock on internet but if you pop into your locsl nd ask they may be able to help.

Just realised I reposted one of your own suggestions- the Boardman is going to be hard to beat for spec/price.
