Tiagra front mech shifting problem

I have a 9 speed triple set up on my winter bike. When shifting between the middle ring and the big ring the chain gets trapped between the inner cage plate and the big ring and wont complete the shift. I know front mechs can be tricky. Has anyone got any ideas ?

Sounds like your FD is sitting too low..

Read the Shimano installation manual for the derailleur. Set it up following the manual.

Thanks for the ideas. I cleaned the mech, chainrings and chain thoroughly, released the cable and went through the front mech set up. Height, allignment, H and L screws and cable attachment. Still don't know what the issue was but it works fine now. Perhaps the front mech just got knocked out of position .
