Morning land lubbers

Dark. Meh.
Today will be mowstly meeting with heating engineer specialist salesman who might want to sell me stuff that I might not want to buy.
Although, they are offering some non-means tested grunts, I mean grants.

I do work. I don't have to work. I choose whether to work or not. I was approached by a heating and insulation company under a current Scottish scheme to improve buildings.

Winky shrivelling ride, nearly came a cropper as some silly whatsit decided to drop her kid off to school onto the bike lane. A combination of spidey senses, rear wheel skid and shouting managed to get the car door closed again in time.

recommend me a decent eatery near Canary Wharf suitable for kids 8 & 5 please. Fast food is not acceptable 👍

I could get a free £15k air source pump and solar panel but do I want to?
I know it sounds mad but my current set up is cozy and homely and doesn't involve lots of upheaval.

Sorry HD, not my end of town. I think Canary Wharf has a few chain restaurants but they tend to be priced for City types.

I couldn’t do with that set up for the hot tub / sex pond which I found out last night that the wife is running at 39.5!

Has @sungod had too many tots, torn his tubs and tumbled off Timanfaya titillating the Tabby?

Chilly day WFH, will head to the office tomorrow for some warmth, though probably not on the ride in. Will also escape the noise from the tree butchers who are doing their last round of stuff on the FO big chestnut tree.

I'm pretty cheesed off at this happening when I'm riding, but now it's happening when I go out running as well

    Can you keep both?
Then you could be generous and run the heat pump in cooling mode and provide heat to everyone else around you.

A free £15k air heat pump?? Smells a bit susfishy. Plus a single solar. What's that for, powering the garage light?

I know a bloke not far away from here got scammed, paid £nk upfront for air pump install. Scammers did a runner with his deposit.

V slow start. And my console delivery package remains stuck in depot. Bot type online chat ...unprecedented levels of demand... apologies....bzzt.... brrr... bzzt... working to deliver as soon as...

Time to wrap up warm and go do some stuff other than tapping on an iPad.
  • 39.5??? we knock ours down to about 33/34 on idle as it only takes a few hours to get back up to 40 when we want it on.

We're on East India Dock Road, tube ride back into town isn't an issue but after an early start I'm sure the kids will want their beds so was looking local really.
A big weekend of winter wonderland, Shrek adventure etc awaits.

  • Also, does anyone know of a decent place to watch the football near Hyde Park after WW? 8yr old is a bit miffed he's missing out on Mbappe (sp?)

not keen on anywhere in cw itself

you're maybe not too far from the cable car that goes over to the o2, the ride/view adds some fun, there're several places in the o2

kinkao (thai) by the river at the bottom end of the isle of dogs is good, seemed family friendly, you might need a taxi for this one - but if you're planning on eating on the way back from central london, you could get the river bus back, the restaurant is a short walk from the stop at masthouse terrace pier, the boat ride is more fun than the tube/dlr

mala (indian) is closer, imo not as relaxed as kinkao, it's down on the river at the west end of cw

Of the chains in CW, wahaca, franco manca (pizza, but not junk in my book) and gaucho are OK. We have a wahaca and franco manca in Wimbledon, and have happily taken the kids to both (albeit a little older than yours). Probably the easiest option with a couple of tired kids.

That's it, I remember now. Better get back to the pub quietly before they realise it's my round.
