Am doing the Strade Bianche sportive next March. I know tyre threads are boring but I am after advice as to what tyres would be suitable - ie not too slow on the road but able to cope with the gravel/not puncture too often!

Any tire will do. I did the eroica 3 times on very standard 23 and 25 mm tyres… they were fineleft the forum March 20230

If it were me, I'd probably go with some decent 28mm tyres that were fast but with some puncture protection.0

Agree with Ugo
I've done it twice, the long route, which is closer to 220km, with 25mm tires which measured up at 24mm on the rims. No issues.
A friend broke his saddle on the first one I rode, I broke the rear axle on my bike on the second but was able to finish... it is still in the garage waiting for repair (have to cut down a 130mm axle).BASI Nordic Ski Instructor

I used tubeless 28mm Conti 5000GP's last year and they felt good. Great event, enjoy.Tri Coaching

Did it last year with a bunch of mates. Rental Moda bikes from La Corsa tours, all with 25mm road clinchers. Not a single puncture between the 8 of us - 4 long route 4 medium. I didn't feel hampered on the gravel sections.

Schwalbe g-one speed, roll well on the road and a decent amount of grip off. I've used them at Flanders and Roubaix too0
