The start is expected to be in Florence, which suggests a route that heavily favours the south of France.

I really don't get the TdF starting in Italy.

Or any other country come to that.
A money making effort that detracts from the core essence.
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Will be making an effort to be there hopefully.

Really excited. Love Bologna too, and so pleased it's going up San Luca twice.

    eh?

we would have thought this is one event you'd be boycotting, not actively encouraging and being part of.

    Totally confused now.

yeah, 'cos tracking you down to hang out to drink wine whilst watching cycling in the most beautiful city in the world with is going to be top of everyone's list.

or not, as the case mat be. Your bantz and reparte will probably be too much tbh.

are you taking a pedestal/stepladder to see over the children in the crowd?

just seems very, very hypocritical thing for you to do tbh, but hey....

Anyway, presumably the Bologna stage will finish ontop of the hill. 10 years ago you'd put your money on Gilbert, but who is the best at those shortish sharp hills nowadays? Pog et all I guess? near enough 2km at 10%.

It's a shade too long and steep for the likes of MvdP or WvA. Woods maybe?

    Colin Lynch…

yes - him snd Nap D.

I remember some clubbie trying to tell CL how to ride his bicycle then somebody had to have a quiet word.

    Anyone in comms with Nap?

Is that the one the Giro had a time trial up? That was Roglic, Yates, Nibali, Superman, so would be the usual GC suspects.

I really can't see the attraction of the Tour in Italy.

    Yeah.

I like the Tour being on and near where I’ll be in the summer holidays.

To answer my own question, Mas dropped Pog last time up here:

Ha… the classic 6 minutes job… surely you need a hill climber! Alaphilippe has that kind of 7.5W/kg power over that time frame

It doesn't finish at the top, drops back down to the line in Bologna.

You’d suggest maybe it is MvdP and WvA as they’re faster finishers then.
