    Morning Troglodytes

    Very soggy, very grey. Meh.
Providing that there is no interruptions, I should have the Porker back on 4 wheels today.

Wet on the way home last evening, very wet roads on the way in this morning, I expect more wet on the way home. Nice tailwind this morning though - I can always tell, because I can twirl the 15 cog like it's the 17 cog, and it reminds me that I need to fettle the gears because the change from 15-14 is very slow, and liable to chonk into place just as I get out of the saddle, causing fear of groinal bashage.

Wfw today and tomorrow, then wfh Thurs and Fri.

Ahh the dreaded fear of slipped gear groinal bashage, I know it well. Tune those gears you lazy b.ugger.

Surprisingly un-wet at the moment. Should have pedalled in but knees a bit sore because I’m too lazy to move my seat back until new pedals & cleats arrive.

  • Almost recovered from a weekend away in Keswick which included a 10 mile hilly run on Sunday.
Got the turbo trainer set up last night and up early this morning. No doubt I'll want to be in bed by about 8.30 tonight.

I'm heading over to New Galloway this afternoon, hope it clears up a bit. Would expect a few flooded roads at this rate!

Been a while! In case anyone was desperately worried about me while I've been away, my OH gave birth to twins last Sunday nice and early at 32 weeks. Bit wobbly through the week but all good new, OH is home and happy. The boys wont be home for 5-8 weeks I'd guess. All good here!

Good news @haydenm Enjoy your next 5-8 weeks of 'freedom', then life gets serious 😊

There is a bright, warmish thing in the sky over The Valley, weird stuff. Potter about, retrieve more bits from daughter's garage (tip run?), be lazy then off to enjoy t'musick in t'evening.

Congrats Hayden and good luck with all of that. Wondered where you had disappeared to.

It's 9/10th's there. It has been a huge restoration and a solo effort too.
I can literally list all the untouched things on the car:

    1. ABS pump
    2. Brake servo and master cylinder.
    3. Torque tube bearings (although the torque tube was cleaned up and enamelled).

Everything - literally everything has been stripped, powder coated or painted/enamelled, restored, replaced, re-built, re-bushed, re-bearinged (uh?). Even removal of the instrument cluster to restore the functions and lights back to former glory.

[I'll post the jobs list later]

...and slow. I have sourced parts from the US, Australia, Germany which takes eons. This as opposed to paying the thieving sons of flea bitten motherless goats* Design 911 or Rose Passion silly money. So many things are NLA.
Recent issue was clutch judder: Squidgy rear gearbox mount.
Ordered a new one. My bad for not doing it in the first instance.
Time. Such a protracted wait. For example: Ordered a mount from Design 911. They had a sale on. Found an online discount code and it worked (on top of the sale price! That'll teach 'em, the baskets) 2 weeks later, nothing (this was mid September). Emailed them to find out what was going on with my order and they told me that they wouldn't have then in stock until mid November. Uh?! I asked for a refund.
Then decided to make my own out of fast cure liquid polyurethane.

    Ta da!

But I also got the x member that the mount sits (hangs) on powder coated. So the wait for the Poly to arrive and the powder coating to be done took me to last Tuesday and other commitments meant I couldn't get started on putting it back together until yesterday.

If I had a mount, I could have had this particular job wrapped up 2 months ago.

Once this has been done, i'll strip and re-build the dicky ABS unit, then it get's a bit of welding and then it's MOT time.
Then drive the fcuk out of it for a while.
...then it will disappear into my mate's body shop for... I dunno. Yonks but i'll press the hell out of him.

Day in the office but feeling a bit jaded as woke up at 2:30am for no apparent reason and took a while to get back to sleep. Not many people in as the trains are still screwed up 4 days after they called off the strike 🙄

    Afternoon folks,
Busy day in the orifice, managed to time my wobble in to avoid the downpours, also managed to walk to Sainsbury's and back in one of the dry spells. Pretty sure I'll get drenched on the way home.
Poxy fookin' dishwasher packed up yesterday so spent last night dismantling it to try and find the fault and fix it. Fixed something, but now it has a different issue. I'll have another go before I admit defeat and call someone or just replace it. I'd just go with using the sink, but the EPO insists we need one.
Good work Pinno, even better work HM.

Cunning plan on the trains - call off the strike last minute, no time to change the rosters but they're not on strike so presumably getting paid?

That's a bit unusual for me - I normally sleep quite well. Might have been the Merrydown...

Yep, they still get paid. And London Underground are on strike on Thursday...must dig out that old song about them.

I sleep terribly. I wake at about 3 and then work or irrational middle-aged health worries churn through my head. Drift off and wake at 5:30, try to sleep, then give up and get up.
