Saturday for the first time this week

'Ning

Apparently I need to be picked up 5 hrs before my flight home, even though it's only an hours drive from the airport.

Hopefully will get some extra zzz on the plane and it will be sunny when I get back like how I left it.

hope last night's sogginess has evaporated

ride, cafes, seek out new cakes, i'm seeing a lack of ambition within the uk's purveyors of tasty comestibles to drive the radical advances in patisserie needed to create a better, tastier, future, i blame brexit, subsequent laze and bubbly

Very soggy, mild and soggy and mild and a bit grey. A lot grey.
Doesn't help with kids and toots suffering cabin fever.

After attacking me thrice and trying to tear my right arm off (very unsuccessfully, I think the indignity suffered by me laughing my socks off was worse for his pride than the lack of purchase on my limbs), Beans settled at 11ish.

Looks like our dogs will have to fight Oxo's dog for the cat.

Relaxed start to the day, no caffeine intake yet as a good lie in was had. Brain is in neutral after watching one of those Resident Evil' flicks last night but I did learn that Milla Jovovoch was born in Ukraine (random fact for the day). A few jobs and a bike ride await...

Morning. Beautiful day. Shopping shopped. Washing washed. Flu jab jabbed. Sitting with a freshly brewed java. Contemplating going for a ride before flu-jabness rubbishness kicks in. What d'ya recon?

If you feel OK, go for it. That's my plan for when I get jabbed next Saturday.

Bezos' A-word are pretty good, even if they are tax-dodging workforce exploiters. Couple electronics bits ordered last night, arrived at 1pm today, and given I'm in the Far Countree...

Light outdoor and garage fettling; no sig double jab after-effects. See. Beers work!

    Afternoon folks,
Currently sitting outside a baby changing room waiting for friend's daughter to change small person. Certainly don't miss all the paraphernalia associated with toddlers and babies.
Hadn't finished typing and had to start moving again, have since had some food, been to the park and gone to the old dear's to do some jobs. Body parts and one set of curtains now hung. Wobbled past B³'s gaff and can report it's still standing, someone's ditched a Mini outside though. Time for a cup of tea before wobbling home.

Spoke typed too soon. Started feeling crackered this afternoon, not ill just tired and heavy. Popped down town to get a ready meal instead of planned kitchen rustling, plus stopped off for a beer at the (very busy) taproom. C'mon beers, get back on it. More please garçon.

Glad the mini is still there. I wasn't sure I locked it before we left...

Sitting in the arrecife lounge (such as it is). Bloody flight is delayed. Unlikely to be home before 1:30/2:00 a.m, depending on passport control and baggage.

Hmm. Jab has barely made my arm sore and feel no different. Maybe a little tired but that could be the wine (I rarely drink). Didn't get out for my bike ride as it started to pour with rain. Fitted my new bike light instead and lubed the chain on the commuter for the week ahead. Mrs & Daughter watching strictly. I'm browsing bikes with a glass of chilled white. Nice.

Was double jabbed last week, bit of a sore arm was the only side effect for me. EPO was really rough for a few days though.
Thinking of bike fettling tomorrow, chain is virtually to the .75 point on the checker. Normally I'd replace the chain hoping to save the cassette, but this cassette has now done 3 chains. So replace chain only and see if it works, replace both anyway or do nothing and run both into the ground over winter?

I need to check mine but I reckon the chain is on 1.0 so I'm just running it into the ground over winter and will replace when the weather picks up (which will probably be August). Got the bits ready to go for it.

And me, although that was Jet2.
They insisted we were still departing on time even though the incoming plane was escorted to the apron by the fire trucks and they wouldn't let it near the terminal.
They sent the standby plane/crew out to fetch us so there was loads of space, the pilot floored it back (just over 3 hrs to East Midlands) and we basically got a free holiday from the compensation

Overhead the crew saying they were going to have to get the plane back to Manchester pronto to get it ready for the naturist charter the following day.

Sure. Buyer pays postage, happy to pack.

Actually trying to sell this one and not having much luck. Seems nobody wants mechanical shift rim brake bikes any more...

    Pity ^, that's smart.
My complete C40 with Record gruppo (10sp) didn't sell for £1600.
Broke it up and the frame alone went for £1200.
The rest I sold which paid for the C60.

The C60 (rim brake) has a super record groupset on it and as a complete bike, I bought it for £1850. Crazy. Refurbished frame too which is immaculate.

Whole bikes (especially rim braked), seriously undervalued yet parts - through the roof.
Cheapest Vittoria latex inner tube (it's been so long) I found last night was £12 odd + postage. That's £4 more expensive than the price of what I paid before for them.
I dunno what it's like in Taz but is there much demand for bikes and bike bits?

Yeah I can't figure out why it's not sold - that thing rides really nicely, is "endurance" geometry with a comfy position, but no takers at (roughly) 1000 quid. I'll do the same and split it up and see if I can sell off the components I guess, just a hassle.

Tassie roadie market is "ok" but nothing like as big here as in, say, Melbourne. Down here, MTB is king - the place has several really awesome bike trail parks that attract riders from all over.

Yes, I watched the GCN+ documentary (with the slightly irritating Mitch Docker) tour of Taz.
I was surprised at how hilly, picturesque and green the place is. Quite stunning. I dunno why but I was expecting it to be much dryer looking.
