Juddering front disc brake
- Frame: Kinesis non-tapered CX frame
- Fork: Paul Milne's supplied carbon/alloy
- Brake: TRP Hy-Rd (cable operated but hydraulic actuation)
- Rotor: Shimano, non-ICE
- Wheel: QR from another bike, never had issues with that
I have tried tightening the headset, stem, changing the skewer on the QR, all to no avail.
Bike stops OK (the TRPs are OK for cable discs) but it judders a lot under hard braking.
Help!
It's just a hill. Get over it.

Is the brake new?secretsam said:As per the title, this is my issue. Now, the bike is a mish-mash, using:

If the headset is tight it will likely be the movement in the brake pads. Are the pads original?0

Have you checked your caliper hasn't come loose? Any contamination/irregularities on disc surface? Obvious things you've probably checked already!0

As above, check everything is tight first as that's easiest, then cantamination.0

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the fork - I had something similar on an old bike which I upgraded with a carbon/alu non-tapered fork from Condor - The juddering down a steep hill felt so dangerous that I immediately took it back off.0
-
I'll try cleaning the caliper and pad, and then tightening the bolts - in answer to some queries, it was all 'as new'

If as new. Trying braking hard on a few descents. Sorted my front judder out on new brakes.secretsam said:I'll try cleaning the caliper and pad, and then tightening the bolts - in answer to some queries, it was all 'as new'
