Lazy day today I hope. Except for some pedal exercise and a dog walk.

Slow start after a decent night out despite man flu.

Run with some mates in a bit and then need to get a new shirt for tomorrows funeral and obviously the pub at some point

Bit dull but not really 'nippy'. Perhaps the southern brethren have become accustomed to scorchio.

Has V98 returned? That is the question.

    Early start thistle?!

Ate a sausage batch with lashings of English mustard for breakfast. Going to gird my loins and pedal it off in 15 mins or so. "Endurance" it says on the tin.

Hope the guneral goes as well as a funeral can go TLW.

The girls are on their way to Liverpool and I'm flat on my back avoiding pain and catching up on sleep after a disturbed night last night. Bit of research plus physio check recently points towards a pulled back muscle or lumbar sprain, never knew they could be so painful but apparently so.

    Afternoon folks,
Very slow start has been had, I will continue doing as little as possible today. To answer Piña's question I believe V98 returned at some point, the shoes would indicate he and gf are there. There has been some movement and coughing noises so I guess they're alive. I was very sensible(ish) and got home about 9:30 and drank lots of water before passing out. Don't feel too bad as a result.
All the best for tomorrow TLW, hope she didn't suffer at the end.
Enjoy the peace and quiet Stevo, although having someone around to assist the old raspberry would be useful.
Old dear just rang, she was feeling a bit rough so did a COVID test, she is positive so has told me to stay away. Obviously I'll go round if she needs anything.
Hope everyone else is enjoying their day.

Yeah just a bit, trying to get through to Aus on the radio but needs to be at the right time of day to get over half way round the world (signal goes the long way round at that time of day appearently).

Hope the shirt buying and the funeral goes OK @tlw1

@veronese68 as long as she's not too bad you can leave a bottle of wine on the doorstep, ring the doorbell and leg it.

    Long wave affected by:

"... the phenomena of reflection, refraction, diffraction, absorption, polarization, and scattering..." so better reception at night.

After putting in a modest aerial, I grounded it in my student digs in this huge house to the radiator - the landlady's lover/gofor's father worked on LW at GCHQ in his day. When I did that, the reception was superb.

Afternoon all. All the best with the funeral tlw1. Hope the old dear recovers v68. Would have posted earlier but busy doing Robin Hood half. All I say is next time I train properly unlike this time. 🥵😖. Still I did complete it and have survived. Just.

Why not simply use the internet calling app of your choice?
I use Messenger to audio or video call my uncle in Fiji. Free and reliable.

Hey, you remember Terminator 3? Keep the alternatives there, just in case 😳

Crackered now. Started the demolition of the idiotically positioned, entrance blocking unusable outside cludgie. Doing the exploratory stuff, confirm no cross beam support on walls, little by little by hand. All straightforward so next phase is bring in the heavy hitter power tools. But not today. Covered in dust, so shower then chill with a beer or 2, might ogle Remco's adventures, and see if can spot either or both of alan_a and pink onesie girl.

There's something quite fantastic about talking to some random (who tend to be benign and of the same ilk) miles away on a LW radio kit.
We had it in Kenya because the telephone was so unreliable. I remember the doubling of sentences and 'stop, over'.

Not for the first time! 🤣
In things that youngsters today won't understand, I am old enough to remember a tenement being demolished that had shared outside toilets.
