Canyon rear hanger £33 - ouch

A Derailleur Hanger No. 28 for my Canyon Ultimate CF Ultegra is £23 + £10 p&p

So = £33 for a rear hanger.
My 5th one in 7 years, normally buy 2 at a time.

Guess it's inflation, and I'm too old to keep up with the price of stuff !

Anyway, if anyone is in the Southampton area and needs any Canyon direct stuff, maybe we can share the p&p ?

Or is there a cheaper option / source ?

    Inflation or daylight robbery?
Anyway, found this company (free delivery):https://magbikes.co.uk/product/derailleur-hanger-for-canyon-no-28/
I don't know anything about them, but they've got an e-bay shop with 99.1% positive feedback, so should be OK.

    Gearmechhanger.com

Might not be any cheaper but have used them in the past.

£20 seems about the going rate for hangers unless you're lucky and your model is one of the cheaper ones (e.g. the hangers for my Giant were really cheap unless you went for BETD/Wheels mfg ones).
    £10 P&P is a bit excessive.

I've never used magbikes, but the price looks good.

5 mech hangers in 7 years sounds a lot to me.

Most of the time I just use my mech alignment guage and see how far it's out and in what plane and then straighten in that direction using the lever of the guage. Very rarely are misalignments that bad that a new hanger is required - think I've needed one in 10 years across all my bikes.

Don't lie you bike driveside down.
I've only ever broke 2, one in a fall, and somehow one on the turbo bike, and that's in over 150,000 kms in 10 and a bit years.

Thanks for the tips. I hadn't really twigged that it would be available from non other suppliers - doh!

In terms of how they get bent, have had several drops onto the wrong side from being careless.
A stone strike did for one. Not sure how the others succumbed.
