Man Caving today. Hoping we get a bit of the rain that looks on the forecast maps like it's not far away, will save using the bloody watering can later on.
"I spent most of my money on birds, booze and fast cars: the rest of it I just squandered." [George Best]
Was watching a gang of swallows doing their thing along the side of the house over the hedge, swooping, flying fast and close, me thinking they're good. Then one banged into the window - doh. Flew off again, probably to receive a severe parental talking to. But they are fast.
The murk seems to be closing in, temps down, got a heavy hosing last night sans lights 'n' bangs, so back to sorting out the mess left behind by Despicable Him. And repeat, and...
Morning All. WFW. Feel free to send the rain northwards as my gardens getting desperate for water. Would also give me a valid excuse for driving into work earlier. Run later as I need the practice.
Afternoon folks, Another busy day of shovelling manure in the orifice. Quite a comfortable temperature to wobble in this morning, a few puddles in the park showed that some bits had been rained on. Rained a few more times here, it might help keep me cooler if it rains when I go home. Had a guy on a Brompton try to race me off the light last night. He was stood on the pedals and giving it his all, I passed him once I'd got up to speed and looked down at the next set of lights to see a battery pack on the front and a motor in the front wheel. No wonder I couldn't out-accelerate him Doubt Thistle has one of them. The weight of the motor and battery don't seem like a good idea on a folder to me.
There's a guy James Houston (still) riding the Transcontinental TCR on a Brompton. Way outside the checkpoint cutoff times for GC but now on the last section across Romania to finish on Black Sea coast of Bulgaria. And he's not lanterne rouge. 4,000+ km completed.
Last day basking for now. Off to a big city for a couple nights of hotels, swimming, family visits. (Pair of childless aunts we need to turn the charm on for) and some interesting food no doubt supplemented with visits to McDonald’s.

Back to WFW today.
Thinking about riding in, forecast currently says it's going to stay dry all day.
WFH which maybe a challenge as the MIL is staying for a few days.
Managed to drink water in a bar again last night - it’s very boring though
Didn't seem that inviting for a pedal.
I'll see if there's any enthusiasm and energy derived from eating lots.

I aim for 90rpm all the time, regardless of speed.
I usually hover between 75-80 rpm (slow).
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Doubt a battery and motor are permitted.
Don't need the extra weight and faff of electric drive, not yet anyway.
Well?
