Work Monday - Thursday. Friday off (long weekend). If that's what you meant.

    Glorious sunshine again.
Yesterday was the hottest here locally on record*.
*That's my records, no idea what the official line is.

All that insulating I did keeps all the heat in. Woke up in the wee wee hours and was lying there thinking and I thought 'fu.ck, forgot to water the flowers and plants - they'll be wilting'. Got up to rectify that and was treated to a few shooting stars. Wonderful.
Even Beans was pleased to see me.

Except a lot of people take Friday off / WFH judging by communter traffic volumes, well back in the pre C-word times, so make Monday night your Sunday night?

    Today: ride, relax, repeat.

The Mrs was out early with the watering can doing the same now that the hose pipe ban in in round here.

Bloke from Sevenoaks Council came round to measure the guest room and check we had smoke alarms etc. We had to tick a box on a form asking if we want £350 a month for taking on our Ukrainian house guest. Hmm...tricky one, that.

Anyway, got a few minor jobs to do before it gets hot then will enjoy the sunshine for a bit.

Morning all. Long parkrun today then family shizzle. Need to decide what day I'm not going to work as I reduce my working wk. Monday or a Friday ?. Taking OH out for a drink tonight.

compromise, don't work either of them

Chilled start after an unexpected really late night out at friends.

For as long as i can remember (and that's going back almost 40 years) this kitchen, due to it's orientation and 1 south facing window with shadow from the hedge, is always cool. Right now, sat here, it's 26 deg c.

What I have learned today: wandered down to town to collect a few bits at 2pm, not the smartest idea given it's well hot. Ah hah, get some proper local ice cream in a cone from this shop on the corner. I should have sat down somewhere to enjoy it; walking in heat while licking a cone ain't the best. Good ice cream though.

Refuge in air con hut while grilling for dinner.

Semi retirement 10 years away at least. Add 5 for full (ish). 15 years ago I was young. It's a long time.

Tryfan was reasonably cool, smart move going up/down the shaded side.

The little hill down the road was like a corridor of fire, even looked a bit canary island-esque

Life's short enjoy it whilst you can.

    Totally.
I think my current boss appreciates this more than the previous one.

Did sweet FA today. Mission accomplished :)

Time to chill with cider and Prime Video. May watch MOTD later to watch Manure getting shafted.
