Wild Atlantic Way 2023

Hello all,
I'm looking at cycling part of the Wild Atlantic Way on Ireland's west coast next year - probably between Galway or Sligo and Derry.
Vague idea is to fly Glasgow-Dublin, train to either Galway or Sligo then cycle to Derry and I'll be staying in B&Bs or hotels/guest houses, not camping.
Does anyone have experience of this route? It looks fantastic.
Any 'must do's' or 'don't do's'?
Looking to learn from your experiences!
Thanks

Not done the Wild Atlantice Way but did the "other" coast a few years ago (Cork round to Dublin).
We got ferry (Holyhead) over and then train from Dublin to Cork to start.
1) You 'll need to book your bike on to the train - adds about 10 Euro to the train price if memory serves. Not sure if it's true for all trains/lines but bike space very limited so make sure you book.
2) Don't know how much "touring" you've done before but, if you haven't done any, your speed is significantly slower (maybe up to 50% slower) with a fully loaded bike. Factor this in.
3) In my experience, drivers in Ireland are (or at least were when I went) generally not too aware of what a safe passing distance is! Also had a couple of occasions where drivers came past and then pulled right in to park. Be careful.
4) Salad and chips seemed to be the only vegan option in most pubs
5) Guinness is an excellent source of energy.
We intend to do the Wild Atlantic Way some time so would be interested how you get on.
