Swim done and now thinking about a run, foot hurt yesterday but tempted to have a little push today

Today is the beach and hopefully a bbq later if we can get some charcoal (seems in shorter supply then fuel here)

WFH until 10 then off for a nice lunch and a look round a shed. Neighbour is building me a deck today, very excited. I've been bbqing 2 or 3 days a week since October and I need somewhere nice to do it...

Will be hosing off bits of slugs and snails from my shiny bike later.

Forecast was nice with a nw wind, however all the roads/paths near work were soaked from what must have been overnight biblical downpours and the tailwind was only minor.

Some dick on an eMTB nearly hit me when he overtook me doing about 30 mph, I passed him 5 miles later when he slowed down, guess his battery went flat :naughty:

I suspect neighbour wants to come along to your bbq.

Some scammerprick sent a 'track & trace' alert text overnight, click here to order your test kit etc. Oh get into 2022 will you, covid is so last year. Isn't it?

Wind has dropped, glimpses of blue sky, get out for a wobble in a bit once the caffeine has woken up the legs. Then tbc. Got ~1.5t of decorative pebbles to move up the slope, future potato patch, get cleared then prepped in due course.

I'll be admiring the baked on road dirt and cack on my communter bike as I CBA to clean it just now.

A day in the cave beckons. Bit tired after yesterday's ride as still woefully unfit after so long off the bike, but it's good to be back riding regularly again and the lard is being shed :)

Will be applying a Ceramic coat to the shiny C60. That's after fun with Jag wire sleeve and internal routing.

Picked up some sort of lergy. Despite that hasn't stopped me doing stuff - big shed clear out yesterday (big as in clear out not WS size).

Benny Beans is at the juvenile delinquency stage.
Tricky and Shorty yet to follow.

The problem with decking is that when it all goes green and mouldy, it's hard to smash up, set alight to and chu...

It's a North Westerly and there's more blue here so it may come your way. Tell HaydenM; he's next in line.

Ride rided, exploring new routes. But what happens when one doesn't consult the maps thoroughly...

Thought I'll head over to that valley, drop down across the bridge to the village then up the other side, turn along the ridge, drop back down, across the next bridge.... what bridge? Deep Ford signs and distinct lack of tarmac. Fortunately there was a footbridge not far downstream.

Getting the legs more accustomed to climbing mode. Result.

Same here, the issue being it was 37 when I went for my run and then running a fast downhill met a snake

Ok, it was a bit of rope but my heart rate jumped

Now, had I been on the graveller rather than the pansyish roadie, would I have gone for it? ๐Ÿค”
    (Nah, not that stupid.)

No snakes for me. But I did almost get taken out by a rabbit. Single track road, lightly used, with grass growing in the centre in places. Bunny came bolting straight out of the verge, front wheel missed it by mm. Eff off rabbit!

I was thinking it was a skinny old snake until I saw your final sentence.

More bike stuff arrived, including a bargain "ROS light jacket" for autumn/winter/spring which seems a lovely replacement for the "Alpha jersey" which had an enormous amount of use over the last 6 or 7 years. Bar tape, quick links, gear cables, socks & another set of bib shorts too. I think kit buying can wait another half decade again now. Maybe a couple more summer jerseys, maybe some tights, though to be honest, thermal shorts and knee warmers do most of the winter down here.

Fun shopping for bike kit isnโ€™t it. So there definitely wonโ€™t be a long period of inactivity again??

    Evening folks,
Another fun day in the orifice. Pleasant wobble to and from as it's a little cooler today. A 3 hour meeting this afternoon was very tedious and I honestly could have done without it. I did manage to call the CEO a ๐Ÿ“ without him noticing, the MD trying not to laugh was quite funny.
That does look like a snake on my phone screen.
Did I mention the doctor I saw once that had snapped 4 ribs when a rabbit ran into her front wheel going down a hill at speed? She went OTB, think it was worse for the rabbit though. She did say she's a lot more cautious descending now.

It was "only" 4 months of complete inactivity due to covid shutting the office last December, and leisure rides not being an attractive prospect in the winter.

Unless there's a lockdown again, it's a bare minimum 90-120 km per week on the 3-4 commutes, plus indoor intervals on Mrs Hยณ's peloton what that she never uses, plus a weekend ride to stretch the legs.

Once I'm in the groove with the commutes, it's automatic and a joy, except the intervals, which sting. I'm a creature of habit, be it indolence or activity.
