    Outstanding by Laporte...

Amazing, but gutting again for Fred Wright

(yet more proof, the biggest problem for French Cycling is French Cycling)

Caleb defending his position below the underall beautifully

    Well played Jumbo-Visma
Wondered if they were doing something for Laporte when WvA stayed on the front

  • I'm gutted for Fred Wright, really wanted him to get something out of one of these. Good experience for him though

So ridiculous! I did everything right, not my tidyest but no errors, then after the last swerve when he said ride over to the gate I dropped a bollock and made the slightest dab as I was pulling away and turned a bit too fast.

    Instant fail

    I WAS DONE!!!😭😭😭😭

When you add it up, that dab is going to cost me 300 odd squids!

Very odd ending that the way Laporte bridged and the rest of the peloton seemed to sit up leaving Wright and Stuyven still out there.

Gutting for Wright who has got in three very good breaks and been unlucky that he had Pedersen in there on the one that stuck. He's had a really good Tour and decent season all around.

I think him and Simmons are going to be mainstays of breakaways for quite a few years.

If you had a 'breakaway of the Tour' if would have WVA, Wright, Geschke, Simmons and Houle in it

  • I was wondering why the sprint trains seemed to ease off when they caught the breakaway, which allowed La Porte to get away.

Feels like an age ago that Magnus Cort was king of the breakaway.

Gutting for Wright, but he's got some big wins in him.

I think the peloton thought Laporte had attacked and the break was pretty much caught, so they were chasing a solo rider. The break still had a touch more juice in it. Plus all the sprint teams had burnt their lead outs off ages ago, van Aert had closed a lot of the gap.

    Wright rocks.

Now, if you feel you have to support a Brit, he's the one.
