Wahoo Elemnt Bolt v2. "take me to" feature not working says "failed to create route"

I am having problems getting the "TAKE ME TO" feature working with the companion app.   This is for navigation purposes when I am out and about.

The app will create a route, but then won't synchronise it and comes up with an error message " Creating Route, Failed to Create Route"  (screenshot below).

I have unpaired the bolt, forgotten it etc (as per instructions on the wahoo webpage), logged in and out of the app, but nothing seems to work.

This is rather frustrating as I cycle round town to various addresses and need this functionality when out and about.

Has anyone else had this issue and solved it?

thanks!

It's a known issue and they are working on it.

Their customer service is usually good. The speed in which they fix software issues not so much.

Did they actually fix your issue or just say they are aware??

I have the same problem but still waiting for a reply.
  • This is the response I got from Wahoo Fitness Support on July 1st 2022:

Thank you for letting us know about your experience. This is an issue we are aware of and we have opened an internal ticket with our development team to investigate and resolve the problem.

Since we have an open ticket with our development team, all customer service tickets related to the issue (including this one) will be marked as “On-Hold” and merged with the developer ticket to be monitored internally. Be sure to keep your app and device up-to-date to receive the fix, when available.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and support as we strive to serve you better. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns in the meantime.

Thanks for being a Wahoo customer,

I contacted them about an issue on the original bolt in 2019. They replied saying it is a known issue and being investigated. 3 years later it still hasn't been fixed.

They seem to offer replacement devices instead of actually fixing software issues.

i got that as well, how long have you had yours???? surly more people would have the same issue, google is not showing many people with it, could it be a faulty bolt unit???
  • I bought the Bolt2 a couple of weeks ago.
Does anyone with the Bolt2 here find that the “take me to” feature works for them?
I’d be interested to know. I.e. set a destination on the phone …
