Wedding anniversary was celebrated last night, a day early but the kids were out and the eldest available to do kids taxi later 😎

Post work snizzle is probably the club for a swim and sauna - probably leave the fun bike as it needs a clean ready for morzine next week

Morning, damp here. OH is texting me from work saying she's tired and can't wait to give up work for good. Coffee time soon

Aren't you two about 12 Hayden?

WFW, stock take, smattering of snacks, gym.

I'm 30, she's 29. Once the twins arrive I can't see her going back to work there, at least not in the same capacity as she does now. She's got a lot of health and safety responsibility for a lot of idiot factory workers and it's really not what she enjoys...

    Morning folks,
I'm sorry to have to tell you that it's very much summer here. Wandered up to the bar for a coffee this morning leaving the womenfolk snoozing. Day of lounging with the odd bit of activity is planned. Off to a friend's for dinner later, he's a very good cook so should be good.
Happy anniversary TLW, it's ours tomorrow. Should probably think about doing something.

WiFi at work us up the spout, so can't do much until the IT anoraks fix it. Yesterday's bike ride was a success as my leg hasn't dropped off today so may try a communt next week :o

    WFH
    Gym later

Might try a run at lunchtime if the sun stays out. Felt great after going out on Tuesday, felt like cr@p yesterday and this morning after sitting at home resting.

I thought they were all 'good cooks' in Italy.

When are the twins due @haydenm ?

    Better weather than forecasted.
Off to the bistro in the sticks for the first time in eleventy something eons.

Well done Mrs TLW for holding out for so long.

I wonder how long it will take Loon to dig a moat.

Has anyone seen @seanoconn ? I mean, surely you lot daan saaf should get warning when he is out and about (lock up your daughters, wives, sons and anything with a pulse). I guess he's peeking out the loft looking at the short skirted Wombledon heffers.

@sungod - no Pineapple trees at Kew gdns?
    seanoconn - gruagach craic!

That's an idea, but TLW would have to get himself and his current wife over here as I'm not leaving a minute before I have to.
To answer Piña, not all Italian men are good cooks, although they all think they know everything about food. The problem with having an Italian mother is they cook wonderful food so idiots like me never bother to learn to fend for ourselves. Said friend is a huge foody, but his mother is English so he's had to learn for himself. That's obviously a huge generalisation but it'll have to do as I need a cooling dip now.

Congratulations on wedding anniversary's or should that be commiserations. As to Hayden,s OH once she's kicked the imminent twins into touch she will find H&S safety easy even with knuckle dragging workers.

I guess Hayden hasn't heard of 'going to work to get some peace' - yet >:)

I do 2 days a week in Edinburgh these days with an overnight, that might become a little more frequent!

Twins due December the 21st but it will almost certainly be early December in reality

Edit: my current plan is to try and get her in as admin in my current firm, there are only 6 of us and the current admin is training to become chartered. As long as it's flexible enough my OH could pick up a lot of the non-stressful stuff. She suggested it, need to broach it with my boss. Would probably put me in a good position embedded in the company too

    Good plan on both fronts.

Welcome back @haydenm and congratulations in advance for the twins. I've taken your cue and been shouting at the trees here a lot lately - mostly streams of random obscenities about stuff. The trees seem to be good listeners.

Not posted a lot here lately, because the swear filters here would render much of my musings as "censored".

The good news: Other Half is in hospital this week, having had the final operation on Tuesday to excise the remaining brain stem tumour. It went well, and so far the side effects seem minimal. The last two ops left him with impaired vision and hearing amongst other things, and we've been dreading the possibility this one would make that worse, but so far, seems ok. Up and about, doing well. With luck, he'll be home on the weekend and that will be the end of it. Preliminary assessment is that no further treatment required, just monitoring periodically. Yay! Just proper rehab and recovery to get on with (again).

The other news: I've today been told I have another wait of 6 weeks just to see the next specialist for my neck. That's after waiting 5 weeks for them to even respond to the request.

I have had a chat with the trees this afternoon to share my opinions about this.

    hope all goes well ws

All the best WS and partner. H not sure working at the same place as the OH is the best idea in my opinion. All day with my OH would send me loopy.

You're probably right but we shall see, I doubt it will happen anyway.

Thanks and congrats to you too WS, that's good news!

Good news WS. And best wishes HM. And good luck as well: my stepdaughter's twins opted to do one way too early, at 25 weeks... One weighed just over 1kg, one just under. Became an 'interesting' time for all parties and generations. Massive support from the maternity unit. And they have made it to school age ok.

    Wishing you an easier route.

Do you get double maternity/paternity leave if you have twins?
