Good evening,
I am fixing up a mate's bike but have run into a potential compatibility issue.
The bike is a Giant Defy 4, it uses Shimano ST-2300 8 speed shifters and was fitted with a braze-on FD-2300. I can't for the life of me find a braze-on FD-2300, only a clamp on. I have spoken with an online shop, and they have advised me to use an FD-2200, but the slider (the long part of the derailleur) is different.
Will this FD-2200 work with shimano ST-2300 shifters.
Thank you in advance

FD is an FD dude: should work no problem.
The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

You can get front derailleur clamps to fit braze-on mechs to non-braze-on frames. They come in different sizes to suit different diameter tubes. A 31.6mm seatpost is likely to indicate a 34.9mm clamp required, for example.0

Where are you based? A quick search shows availability for the FD-2300 braze on version in the UK as well as the banded version and worldwide availability through aliexpress.
Otherwise as above.
Use another FD or remove the current braze on clamp and fit a banded FD instead.0
