Alternatively, find out his name and I'll send a MF to sleep with his wife.

    That'll proper learn him.

    Taking one for the team.

The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

Police hot on prosecuting close passes at the moment. So long as you're sure you did no damage folding his mirror back, even saying that he was close enough that you were able to do it (rather than claiming it hit you) gives proof that he was passing too close, even without the other stuff.

He got assaulted by that driver. Enough to have the guy arrested if there is a witness who will confirm that. Whether the assault was a result of the OP causing a criminal damage to the car or not is completely irrelevant.

Surprisingly similar, but I had a punch thrown at me, rather than a kick. There's a lot of angry people out there.

i'm of a certain age and I'm in cleats. Going to toe to toe with an amped up loon is not going to end well. I dont engage. I try to get out of the way asap and get them out of my bubble as fast as I can. i've not met them before and never will again hopefully. My encounter some years with a nutter who wanted a go then he turned on a woman who rebuked him for his foul language. that escalated into him threatening to cut her throat and those of her dogs which were going nuts at him. she was on the other side of a gate taught me that there are genuine nutters out there. Most drivers are ok but you can see that the driver weaving in/out of traffic at speed etc is going to be unsympathetic to you.
  • It's unfortunate that cars are valued over life in this country by the law and especially planners! It's fine for someone to threaten you with a tonne and a half lump of steel, it's their perceived birthright, but how dare you fold their wing mirror in an adrenaline fuelled reaction to nearly/potentially being killed!

It is diffyto stay calm and rationale in the heat of moment when you feel your life is in danger.
I was a defensive cyclist and I would've taken primary position to prevent from trying squeezing past. I was actually hit once doing this where car behind whether deliberately or miss judged actually made contact with my rear wheel, fortunately I stayed upright and no harm/damage to me and my bike was done , but his number plate was half hanging off scrapping along the ground. I continued further down the road and fortunately found another person who I had time to ask to be a witness for the inevitable confrontation, We exchanged words and the driver ended up pushing me and I fell over driver then went.
My witness and I reported to police who went and spoke to driver I got a local community resolution whereby effectively driver got a bit of a lecture and had to apologise, hopefully it change his behaviour or if he's involved again it'll be worse for him...
There's no point being dead right and now I try and take easy way out.
My new route as changed jobs goes through shared use space that is part of national cycle network and cycling is permissible, however a dog walker objected, stood in middle of path waving arms around, I slowed and he ended up pushing me off bike as clipped in , another cyclist had also had a confrontation with him as the 3 of us came together. I reported it to police in person later that day after work, the other cyclist had called police at the time but the police couldn't find the call apparently. Unfortunately nothing could be done as couldn't identify the person despite me taking photos of them or any witnesses.
