Carbon rim brake pads

Just bought a set of carbon wheels that have come with the same manufacturers carbon pads. Is there any reason to use these carbon pads with the rim - or can I use the carbon specific pads already in the shoes that I have. Seems a bit daft swapping carbon pads, with loads of life left in them, just to use the pads that come with these carbon wheels.
Any thoughts please??

I would try the bike with the new wheels and existing pads. If i did not like that set up i would change the pads. Am i overlooking some thing here or is it really that simple?

Thanks for the replies. I Didn’t know if the carbon lay-up of different wheels meant that a different carbon compound was more effective and less abrasive for that carbon breaking surface than another.

Nah fam - massively over thinking it.

Its a carbon bicycle wheel rim and two rubber blocks being pressed against it.

An expensive one at that - and as I don’t live in the flatlands, I don’t wanna use a compound on a carbon brake block not designed for that carbon rim. 😁

I honestly, seriously wouldn't worry about it. You're massively overthing it.

They don't design specific pads for specific wheels otherwise each manufacturer would have to make about 200 different sets.

Its just a carbon bicycle rim.

What wheels are they out of interest? Where are you riding?
