Brake leaking

My wife complained on our last bike ride that her rear brake wasn't working.
I've just got round to looking at it and used a bleed kit to push fluid up from the bleed nipple.
The brake now works well again but I noticed that there was a slight leak from where the hydraulic pipe goes into the caliper. It isn't leaking from the threaded part but from the back of that where the pipe goes into the ferrule.
I've tightened the ferrule, which did tighten a little bit it still looks a bit wet. I tried to dry it all up from before but I can't tell if it is new or not.
Will tightening the ferrule stop the leak from there?
What is the next course of action if it doesn't work?
The brake are Shimano Deore. The bike is a specialized.

It's possible that it just loosened a bit and will be fine now.
I'd make sure it's really clean and dry then keep a close eye on it, also watch out for an initial spongy brake feel or small differences in performance for now.
If it is still leaking next thing to try is undoing the bolt, cut off the old olive and insert and try new hose fittings.
Be wary of rotor contamination from the leak as a possible cause of loss in braking performance or squealing. Worth giving the rotor a thourough clean, check the pads for a shiny surface then maybe a light sand or other similar decontamination method if necessary.0 -
Excellent, thank you.
I'll give it a try. Brakes work well now so I don't think there is any contamination.
Fingers crossed the tightening has worked, if not I might just replace the complete hose as they are fairly old.1 -
No worries. 😎0
