Years ago I had my biker built, Sanderson life frame, and not cheap shimano parts with rock shocks etc, my son has 2 good customised (by me) Saracen bikes. But they have not been used for ages, Autism does not help, NO road use, just want coastal, slow biking.
Is there any reasonable, KNOWN quality kit to convert then please to electric. As we are both on DLA I can never afford any new bikes.
Links, advice much appreciated.
Thank you

With no endorsement for how good they may be or ease of fitting, the conversion kit that springs to mind (all those YT ads) is Switch (Swytch? sp?).0

Swytch is probably the easiest to install and they are a UK company, so should be easier to get fixed if you had issues. But they are one of the most expensive conversion options.
I recently fitted a TONGSHENG mid drive kit to my mountain bike (cost me about £400 including battery). So I would recommend them if you want something cheaper. They are not as reliable as Bosch/Shimano motors, but they are fairly easy to service yourself and there are guides/communities online which can help you with issues. Bafang is another cheaper option, which has a large following online. Halfords are currently using them on a lot of their ebikes.0 -
