Best tonkatsu I ever had. Not that I've had many.

Another long day, just dusting off the necktie.

Long day of meetings was made longer by no lunch provides 🙄

Catch up and do some work today, maybe miss a run today as not feeling 100% and abandoned last nights hill repeats

    Drizzle mizzle. Meh.
Will try and chill today. Just about done on mental rental but lino fitting didn't go well... then bumped into ex -employee of local carpet shop who will do it for me tomorrow. Excellent.
Just cannot fit lino - carpet okay but lino.

Found Beans sleeping in the middle of Shorty's bed and Shorty was sleeping on the floor last night. he's clever that lad.

Morning. Going to try for a non-moaning post.

Puppy is starting to settle in; had two nights on the sofa with him sleeping in his bed next to me. That’s resulted in two night’s sleep for me - he seems happy to stay quiet and go through the night in that situation. We’ve now got a baby pen set up in the living room so we’ll be getting him accustomed to staying in that when we have to leave him alone. Baby steps but he’s going to be a lovely lad.

Sunday’s ridiculously short bike ride has given me a week of pretty much pain free movement. Will have to repeat more often. Maybe I’ll order a decent office chair as well in an attempt to help the back pain, but then I’ll have to order one for the pregnant colleague that sits next to me too. Worth it. Got plenty left in the budget.

Tutoring tonight, then a relaxing evening of nothing planned. Well, maybe some 11+ prep with GTi Jr.

    Again - clarity. Thank you.

I do like deep fried mushrooms in a Tempura batter.

    Morning

Went for a ride this morning and tyre blew out about 1.5 miles from work which is annoying.
Not sure why it's suddenly decided to go, if I'd caught the sidewall last night surely it would've gone bang overnight not after 7 miles?
Tyres are a bit expensive these days, and in short supply #brexvid

tonkatsu probably would go well with a side of stir-fried pineapple and chillis, plus some dark soy for dipping

The dark sauce was soy based. Cabbage salad provided crunch. Pickles provided a foil.

We got there 11:30 to avoid the queues. It was so bl00dy good. Maybe 50 people waiting when we left.

£7.50 if my calculations are correct.

Tokyo can be £££££ but lunch joints are great value. Loads of them, all specialist in one thing.

For balance I had a supermarket chicken salad sandwich for lunch on my travels.

Lounge furniture arrived yesterday so this evening will involve spirit levels and fixing handles.

I had 5 double Kit kat bars on account of not anticipating being held up by a leak*.

Anyhoo, mental rental finished. Tenant in in 2 weeks time (provisionally).

*Not your age related leak Stevo, an actual plumbing leak.

Evening folks, another busy day in the orifice. WFH tomorrow which will be a bit of a break relatively. At least there will be fewer interruptions so I can get on with stuff.
Old dear still staying with us, all went well at the hospital at least. She's flying back to Verona Saturday morning to see the Giro finish on Sunday. This is good as we have lots to do this weekend.

Walked around Edinburgh and sampled several beers in various niche hostelries. Beautiful place, suspect I now have to bring the OH to visit.
