What's your opinion?
1350 eur
Built 2017
Full Carbon, Endurance Geometry, Ultegra, Disc brake
Perfect size (I'm 177cm, so 56cm is perfect)
Only 50km from home
Good, isn't it?

Is it not actually too cheap to be good?
1350eur for a 2017 Trek Carbon Ultegra...0 -
A lot of the drivetrain is not ultegra- Genesis Croix de Fer

It looks great! In my opinion, an accurate assessment of the condition of the bike can only be given after it has been completely disassembled. I took my bike to my mechanic a year after I bought it, and he found that there were two balls missing from the bearings on the front wheel. The bike was from the factory, not from hands. So I would advise you to be concerned about its actual technical condition. Because the low price can be for a variety of reasons, not just technical condition. If the condition is good, it is worth taking.pep.fermi said:This is exactly what I was looking for

Thanks Thomas.
Some random thoughts.
By your logic one should never buy a used car. This is a conclusion with whom most folks disagree, myself included.
Just spoke with my LBS. He advised against buying used, too much of a lottery. I'm actually very surprised. He doesn't have a vested interested, great semiretired guy who does only servicing, he doesn't sell bicycles.
I'm 49 soon, and my current road bike is 15yr old, still very usable. Realistically, I will buy ONE more road bike in my life. If I opt for used, the only reason is to spend less. But hey, only one more bike in my life maybe it's ok to splash out some more and go for new...
This is what I want:
Endurance geometry, Carbon, 105 or Ultegra, disc brakes, sexy looking, single color.
If I buy new, it'd probably be Canyon CF 7 or 8, price 2000 or 2400 eur.0 -
Interesting, I was about to write you're wrong because the ad says "kompletter Ultegragruppe", no need to be fluent in German to understand.pangolin said:A lot of the drivetrain is not ultegra
But then I checked the website and indeed Trek Domane 4.5 is mostly 105..., could well be it upgraded to Ultegra but unlikely...
edit:
Just checked the pics, rear mech is Ultegra.0 -
The derailleurs are ultegra, I think that's it.pep.fermi said:

One more comment:
the Trek, I could probe ride it, the Canyon would be bought online without test of course (can always return it, but...)0 -
I went to see the Trek, turned out too small. Strange because from the manufacturers website it should have been exactly my size, 56cm, I'm 177cm.0
