Disc lockring Vs Cassette lockring

Are they interchangeable? Specifically a disc lockring on an 12-34 SRAM 11 speed cassette?
Need a new lockring and fancy some bling so was looking at Hope. Alternatively can anyone recommend an alternative cassette lockring that's longer than the standard Shimano one (to avoid stripping the freehub threads, which I've managed to do before)
