It's a nice looking bike but those wheels don't look like they're made of carbon!0
-
The wheels are not carbon but the hubs are. Here is a link to an identical set.

I think keeping as far away from you and your bike as possible is the best plan.0

Thanks for pointing that out Les, how's that?0

Those wheels are quite old - I am surprised they took an 11sp cassette?0

Yep, they sat in my brother in laws garage for 10 years, still in the wheel bags until I bought them off him a few years ago. Best wheels I've ever had.
That's a good point, I purchased a separate adaptor from Shimano (if I remember correctly) similar to this.

Thats for turbo trsiner not some wheels, yah?

I'm not sure exactly how to explain it.
I took it took a bike shop and the mechanic said you need a freehub adaptor to put the ultegra groupset on campag wheels, it looked similar to the below, he attached it and the wheels have worked ever since. This below is believe is an exact match.

if its 11 speed you wouldn't have needed to as all 11 speeds work together fine - mechanic should/would have known this.
now I'm totally confused.
i'm off to have coffee. The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

Have you put an Ultegra cassette on campag wheels before?0
-
no but i've used a Campsg 11 dpeed on Ultegra and it works fine.
why would you try and put an Ultegra cassette on Campy freehub?.The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

I didnt have a campag groupset so i needed the adaptor so that the Ultegra cassette would work.0
-
i could of used a campag cassette and did not need the ultegra cassette?0
-
Because you didn’t need too. You could have used the Campag cassette with the Ultegra rear mech etc.0
-
I didnt have the campag cassette if i remember correctly.0
-
you could have bought one/Miche/Ambrosio for the same or less that the new freehub.in2minds said:I didnt have the campag cassette if i remember correctly.
O'er well, what is done is done. Mechanic was v naughty though. Can you go back and punch him on the nose? Or at least make threats in a Norn Iron accent: "I know where you live", that sorta thang?
Do you still have the Campag bit? You can sell that and get some cash back. Many a mickle makes a muckle..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.

I reckon you should keep the bike and take it back with you, it clearly means more to you than it does to some random that will try and chip the price when buying it off you.
If you disagree I'll give you 20quid for it.1 -
some good points there Veronese
