Even though this is a 1x rear derailleur, Shimano hasn't blocked that in firmware. You can use it in a 2x setup.
Keep in mind though, that synchronized shift will not work. Shimano has not enabled synchro shift for this RD, because it was not designed to be used with a front derailleur.
According to the specs, it doesn't really have the total capacity to be used with a front derailleur. Still, people do use it in 2x mode, and they seem to be OK:
