Quick release length check

Might be silly question but just a double check. Managed to split quick rear release handle and would not work. Use pliers to get out off rear wheel. The spare quick release works that came with new wheel, but slightly shorter than original. Should be ok?

Try it and see.
If the thread protrudes through the nut while locked then it is good to go.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

Interesting... the standard for road rear wheel hubs OLD for QR was 130mm, and for MTB was 135mm, which is about what the difference between those two skewers is? Are you sure the "new" wheel had the correct MTB skewer?
The functionality is the same and as long as there's sufficient thread in the nut you're fine as @pblakeney says...

It screws in this far. Best source proper replacement think. Cheers.

Yeah that doesn't look reliable at all.

So what length would I be looking for given this pic? 190 or 170mm etc

Hard to be accurate from what can be seen on screen but if an extra 10mm will protrude the nut then whatever standard length is that length, or next size up.The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

I doubt the handle is included in the length.gtrich said:Including the handle its 190mm total length.
I've no way of checking but I'd assume the length to be from the flat face. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
