Cycling on London roads. Safe not safe?

Hi Community,
How do you feel about cycling on London roads? I cycle to work from Stoke Newington to Aldgate and I find horrific the route after old street. I also heard about a bike accident in Holborn. I really enjoy cycling in the morning to work and there's no question for me to stop cycling but, I wanted to know what other people feel about cycling to London daily.
