Spacer for 11sp Mavic Ksyrium freehub to fit 10sp 5700 cassette.
I recently bought the Mavic Ksyrium Pro UST wheelset for my 10 speed Madone 5.2. I will be replacing the Bontrager Race which is my current wheelset.
The Mavic wheels came with a spacer and in the instructions state to use that on the freehub to convert it to 10 speed. When I removed the cassette from the Bontrager wheels I also found a spacer there.
Do I need to use both spacers to fit the cassette on the new wheelset? Or just one of them? Is there a way to check if I have set up the wheelset correctly?
Thanks!

You need to use both. the 1.85mm spacer that came with the Mavic wheel, which will have an eleven speed freehub, plus the 1mm spacer that came with the CS-5700 10sp cassette on the Bonty wheel. When you tighten the cassette lockring down there should be no lateral play at all. Check also the upper and lower limit adjustments on your RD and adjust if necessary.0

Thanks for the advice. Does it matter which spacer goes in first on the freehub?0

Hello, when I did this I put the thicker 1.85mm spacer onto the freehub first.0

Thanks. What confuses me if why the Mavic instruction manual has only shown 1 spacer to convert the freehub to 10sp. Are they assuming your cassette comes with the second one you need to attach?0

Just try it with one spacer. Once you’ve tightened it up you will find it still moves if it needs two spacers.1

its just random tbh.
some wheels one. some two. some none.
sometimes you take a worn out cassette off, put a new but exactly same one on and it needs a spacer.
i have absolutely no idea why but you generally only realise once you've done everything up..The camera down the willy isn't anything like as bad as it sounds.
