Chainring rubbing Chainstay

Hi

On my Boardman MHT Pro 2017, the chainstay paintwork is being chipped off by the chainring when it’s in the lowest gear, could I please have any advice on how to fix this problem, or why this is happening. Thanks

    How much clearance is there between the chainring teeth and the chainstay?

    Initial thoughts are that chainring is too close for comfort or the 34t is too big.

    Could be the clearance is fine but your bottom bracket is badly worn and has play causing the whole crankset to wobble slightly in certain high load circumstances?

    Has the bb been replaced and the new one fitted with a drive side spacer missing?
