Tbh, run with your gut feeling - no one can second guess what The Big P is thinking or going to do.
Best bet really is to go down the middle - the Russians aren't daft and know the consequences of what will happen if it all kicks off, the West has to posture and knows the consequences of what will happen if it all kicks off and what they will have to, its the poorbloody Ukrainians who are stuck in the middle who we have to feel sorry for.
