Wireless headphones for turbo
I've gone through so many sets this winter, they seem to last for a few weeks then stop working (either battery stops charging or one side loses sound). Assume it's the sweat, even though they have all claimed to be sweat/water proof.
Anyway, any recommendations of some which actually last for more than just a few weeks would be welcome.
Thanks

How much have you paid in the past?
What sets have you gone through?
Why not try wired?0 -
Bose soundsport work for me. Bluetooth but the ones with a wire between the two headphones.

I got a set of these last year, they haven't let me down and reasonable sound.
Don't worry about sound quality as you won't notice when blowing'. 😉

Buy cheap, buy 'so many sets'.
AirPods work fine.

MPow ones from Amazon have been good for me. Still going well after several winters of turbo use.1

The set up I have I would need a pretty long wire, plus it would probably annoy me, so wireless only real option.shirley_basso said:How much have you paid in the past?

Tried so many sets varying in price from about tenner to £39 - which was the set that just failed. All have come from amazon, and tbf they've been brilliant with returns but now I've had enough of failures and just want something which will last more than a few weeks, so happy to spend up to a hundred if it buys reliability.0 -
I've got the Mpow S16, have lasted a few years now of turbo, gym and outdoor running in all weathers.mrb123 said:MPow ones from Amazon have been good for me. Still going well after several winters of turbo use.
I lost them for a few months and thought I'd left them at the gym - I eventually found them in the garden half buried in some snow. I gave them a wash, put them on the radiator for a day and they still work fine0 -
Yup, mine too. Noise cancelling is not perfect but takes the drone out of the fan/turbo and I bought them at £30. Though mine are the over the ear ones.mrb123 said:MPow ones from Amazon have been good for me. Still going well after several winters of turbo use.

I had the mpow d7 but they failed after just 2 uses. Plus mpow now disappeared from amazon...(although I think they are actually just generic headphones which are rebranded).
Been told to look at the jlab sport in ear wireless headphones. Anyone tried these?

I use Shokz headphones, they were used originally when I was commuting but have now found a home with the turbo, I much prefer them to in the ear or over the ear ones for sweaty turbo work.
no sweat issues, never had any battery problems and they've been in use for a good few years now. I am sure you could probably pick up a cheaper copy too if you wanted.

No they haven't. See my link above as an example.redvision said:...Plus mpow now disappeared from amazon..
A theory. You've not been putting them in their box while still wet?The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

For turbo use, don't get big over the ear headphones, far too hot!
I think TWS are where its at now, just much more comfortable than older style bluetooth with a wire between them, especially when hot / sweaty / moving around.
You don't need to spend Airpod money though; my daughters both have Soundpeats, I have Anker Liberty, both are really good and would recommend.

With true wireless earbuds you need to have total confidence one isn't going to fall out - and for that, it needs to be more securely poked in my ear than is comfortable (for me).0

I have no previous experience before getting these but they do the job for me:

I disagree on both counts; I've done 3 hr turbo sessions without overheating or being uncomfortable (other than the legs) using over the head phones. And in fact I bought them after buying the Anker Liberty ones but they kept falling out, I tried each of the supplied 'shapes' and even a 3rd party after market one but no good.super_davo said:For turbo use, don't get big over the ear headphones, far too hot!

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. Have avoided any of the brands I have tried already, or what look like rebranded versions of those, and instead ordered the jlab ones I linked to above. Will see if they are as reliable as I have been told they are.

I don't agree with the suggestion of avoiding the over the ear models. I did that for a while then I saw PuckMoonen in Instagram (down boy!) wearing my Sony BT over the ears noise cancelling headphones (https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/headband-headphones/wh-1000xm3). Mine were not doing much as I wasn't travelling so much. I tried them on the turbo - absolute game changer. They cut out the noise of the turbo and the fan and the music is so much better in quality. No issues with over heating and that was me using them in an aircon apartment in Vietnam and now a dam freezing garage in Scotland.
Almost a year in and no issues with them working.
They cost a lot but I wouldn't go back to cheaper ear buds.0 -
I also have the Sony xm3s which sounds fantastic but are a bit hot.
To stop them getting ruined by sweat I use these covers https://gymhugz.com/
