Model stickers for cranks, etc

MattFalleMattFalle Posts: 7,138
Afternoon all

Does anyone know if you can buy stickers to go on cranks etc saying what model they are - I'm building up something with an older Dura Ace groupset, brakes, mechs, levers all have the D/A branding all cool but cranks have been rubbed off so vanity wouldn't mind having it back on the cranks.

Have seen some mad bloke paint it on but it fell off after about 3 mins.

There’s a very well regarded guy in the UK who does this - Gil something-or-other, has a business called “retrodecals”, might be worth a try

You’ll find him on Farce Book< but contact details are shown here from his FB page

groovy sauce dude - can you ask him if he thinks a decal is enough or will it just get rubbed off within 5 mins and look shyte?

this is the main thing I've been pondering tbh.

Just texted him. He said he can make them but he won’t guarantee how long they'll last due to rubbing.

Why not get the decals made up, apply them, and then apply clear protective film over the top if you are worried abour rubbage?

I don't see why the cranks should get rubbed overly anyway, I know my shoes/overshoes don't make contact with my cranks, I don't think my setup is that different to most people?

Well done Malx, I was thinking of that thread when I saw this, but couldn't be arsed to go looking.
