Advice re GPX Files

Afternoon
I'm planning a trip around King Alfreds Way. Due to differing abilities within my group I need to ensure daily mileages are not to arduous. I have a GPX file but how do I get this onto a map to calculate the mileages of different sections of the route.

Do I need to download a Garmin map onto my Garmin Connect account? (I have a Garmin Vivoactive) or do I need to buy a Garmin 530 830 or even a Karoo? Struggling to understand to be honest.....
Many thanks

  • If you upload the file on something like RidewithGPS, you should be able to follow the cursor on the route and see the distance to that point...
Is that what you want to do?

  • Yeah exactly, so I can roughly work out each days distance.
