Hi all, looking to getting into biking. Other than my younger days of commuting through the fens on a grip shift y-frame behemoth, I'm a complete noob. I've seen a local shop selling the above model for £850, no major scuffs and the bolts etc don't appear corroded.
Just wondering if this is still decent, or a bit too dated component wise?
I'll mostly be riding the south downs to begin with, but want to start hitting some jumpy trails ultimately.
Also considering a new hardtail On one Scandal, but not sure how that would fare with me inevitably casing the jumps.
Any advice appreciated (budget is £1k BTW).
Thanks in advance.

They are nice bikes. I’d tend to agree with the others, it does seem a little overpriced. It would have to be mint for that money. You say it’s in a shop so you could try haggling or make an offer and leave it with them. Work out what you’d be prepared to pay beforehand and stick to it.
But first make sure it is the right size for you, no point in going ahead if its not just right.
Try to find a few bikes you can test ride if your not sure
