Elite roller failure

I have had two rollers split. The red parabolic sleeve split from the outer edge inward about 3-4 inches. Has anyone had the same issue? Any idea why it fails?

    Yep, mine did that, I couldn't find a spare roller anywhere and they had to go in the bin. Like you, I wasn't sure why the roller had split, it hadn't been dropped or hit, I just noticed it one day when unfolding them. A mate had a similar issue.

    Nope. Purchased mine in 2011, used extensively (over 10000 miles) and not one issue. Regard them as probably the best value cycling item I have ever bought.
