Does anyone know if there's any such provision? I'm meeting someone in the centre of town on Saturday, coming from the Portway end, and wondered if there was anything official, so I can avoid the ulez and parking charges. If not, I'll probably just find a roadside at Bower Ashton, or Clifton, or nearby.

I think @pangolin would be better advised than me as I only visit now, but you could find somewhere near the Bristol to Bath Cyclepath. If that is too far east, then Leigh Woods has a car park for the woodland walks, which I think is free.

There's also Long Ashton Park and Ride, where the charge is just in the bus fare.1985 Mercian King of Mercia - work in progress (Hah! Who am I kidding?)

Do you actually want to cycle in or park close enough to walk? Most of the middle is residents parking these days.

Coming along Portway you could pull off on Roman Way and park there for free, and pootle the rest of the way by bike.

You can also go round onto Sea Mills Lane later to get back onto the other side of Portway.- Genesis Croix de Fer

Thanks @pangolin ! Park & cycle, so will probably go for the Roman Way option. I was born in and grew up in Bristol, but so much has changed near the Centre since I left, and it's so rare that I go there, that I barely know what's what there these days.pangolin said:Do you actually want to cycle in or park close enough to walk?
