DT Swiss 18T vs 36T vs 54T Rolling Resistance
Wondering if anyone has seen texts comparing rolling (spinning?) resistance for the different star ratchet options on dt swiss hubs. Any reason to stay with the lower engagement ratchet?
I've seen some people claim that fewer pawls (in a traditional hub) result in less rolling resistance which is why I'm wondering (although I haven't seen much testing that backs this up or quantifies it).

The ratchet resistance is insignificant and it would only play a role on a descent where you don't pedal. Waste of time to even look into the matterleft the forum March 20230

Went from the 18t to the 36t.
Noticed 0 difference apart from the noise. You don't even notice the engagement difference.0 -
I'm sure Absolute Black will come along with an £800 ultra-low friction pawl set upgrade.0

oh I see, those that want to convince you that you could have 400W on the wheel, if you didn't waste half of them in a bad transmission and poor lubricationleft the forum March 20230
